Who We Are

We close the implementation gap for nature and climate.

Mycela embeds entrepreneurial operators alongside science-heavy teams, so proven solutions can raise capital, build delivery models, and scale.

Why We Exist

Conservation and climate work is difficult to scale. Funders back the science, everyone celebrates the pilot, and then science-heavy teams are expected to figure out how to cross the chasm from pilot to scale between meetings and grant deadlines.

The solutions are there. So are the people who know how to build them into something bigger. The question is whether we actually put them together.

Our Story

Mycela's team spent three years incubating this approach inside The Nature Conservancy, embedding operators alongside brilliant scientists who had the intervention but needed support to overcome pilot purgatory.

The need extended far beyond one institution. So we co-founded Mycela alongside scaling and innovation leaders from TNC, WWF, Conservation International, CARE, and the World Food Programme to bring this work to the larger sector.

Why “Mycela”?

Named after mycelial networks, the biological infrastructure beneath forests that shares resources across organisms so the whole ecosystem thrives.

  • 01

    Initial Call & Proposal

A diagnostic conversation to learn more about the work and assess mutual fit, then a proposal in writing with scope, timing, and cost.

  • 02

    Discovery & Scaling Bootcamp

Optional. 5–10 targeted interviews and a structured review of existing materials, brought into a 2-hour working session with the core team.

  • 03

    Embedded Operator

A dedicated operator embeds to operationalize, test, and build momentum alongside the core team. 8–24 weeks.

We manage & measure every engagement

Who We Work With

  • Teams

Proven science and funding to scale, but without the operational capacity to get there.

  • Funders

Who see the implementation gap in their portfolio and want capacity-building that moves the needle.

  • Partners

Who share our mission to transform the sector, so it can scale to meet the crises at hand.
